Beloved barber Zanu Simpson was fatally shot outside a Queens restaurant early Tuesday morning. This was just hours after Simpson posted taunts on Instagram. Zanu's caption read:
“N----- taking shots can’t stop me, (gun and two bomb emojis) They ain’t real enough.”
According to the police, 32-year-old Zanu was found in his white BMW X5 around 12:15 am with multiple gun shot wounds and one in particular to the head. The BMW was parked outside of Breezes Highland Bar & Grill on S. Conduit Ave. in Rosedale where Zanu spent the night.
The motorist who called 911 said that she saw a man with charcoal gray sweatpants lean into the BMW as she passed it. The motorist said she heard gun shots and doubled back. She discovered Zanu Simpson slumped in the driver seat with gun shot wounds.
The police say the gunman shot Simpson three times before taking off.
Investigators found a gun at the scene (which they believe to be the murder weapon) and a live round.
